This website is a brief overview of Dr. Richard Barrett's independent psychology practice. Dr. Barrett is located in Rogers, Arkansas. He assesses and treats adults for a wide variety of conditions and concerns. Dr. Barrett offers individual adult therapy. He is also one of the few psychologists in the state with extensive training and experience with clinical hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy can aid the patient with complex emotions, trauma, or with chronic repetitive behaviors or conditions, i.e. smoking cessation, phobias, or irritable bowel syndrome. His office accepts and files insurance on the patient's behalf. There is also a self-pay option for those choosing to not use their insurance or with insurance we cannot accept.

Dr. Barrett received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1996 from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and completed his internship at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Little Rock and North Little Rock. He then spent five years with Harbor View Mercy Hospital as a Staff Psychologist and Director of the Adult Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program.
He entered private practice in 2003. He is a Past President (2009) of the Arkansas Psychological Association and has served as an Approved Consultant for the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Dr. Barrett’s practice is focused on individual adult psychotherapy. He has an extensive background which includes 23+ years experience in psychology and 20 years working with clinical hypnosis. He utilizes an eclectic and pragmatic approach primarily consisting of cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and ego-state approaches. |
